Today I went to get my nose pierced. Becca went with me and it was a little scary. It hurt for a quick second and my eyes welled up and then it felt like a sharp piercing most of the rest of the day.

Today was Mother's day and turned out to be a very special day. Dave and the boys took my to Dos Hombres for lunch after church. Dave had the boys do hand prints and fremed it. He also gave me a cupcake rack and transporter (ya know, so the frosting doesn't get smooshed). He knows me too well. After naps Liam and I went to see Earth on the big screen. We had a good time together and he loved the movie.

Day 128 & 129 - Youth Leaders retreat

Dave took a few adult youth leaders, myself included, to Denver for a youth leaders conference. It was really good! We had some great discussions and it was totoally worth the trip.

This morning we babysat a couple kiddos from church while we worked in the yard. We weeded, mowed and then put down some top soil and more seeds. After the kids went home we went to the nursery and bought some herbs, veggies, a Rhodedengren bush, some strawberries and some flowers. We gave up on trying from seeds and went straight to plants.
We hit Target on our way home and Liam got some new golf balls since Bailey ate all of his.

Kristin came over today and we did some scrapbooking. I love SBing with friends. I don't get as much done cause we talk a lot and share tools but it's SO much fun. This was one of the pages I did. Two pages in over 3 hours!
In the evening we went to see the homeschool play which was hilarious! They always do such a good job. After the play we went over to Kristin and Brad's to play games. Becca stayed with the boys all evening until midnight. What a wonderful babsitter.

I didn't take this picture, I was at home with the boys. Today our church and many other local churches had no services in buildings. Instead, we held worship services in the community but serving others. There were tons of locations all throughout Grand Junction where people where helping others.

Today my neice and nephew came over for a few hours. The kids wanted to play with the water table and instead of simply getting wet they got muddy too. SO. . .they all went into the tub. I learned that our tub is by no means big enough for 4 children. Haha!

Cleo is a strange cat. She often will take her naps laying straight out on her back. Liam used to call her "KEY-O" missing the "L". We tried to teach him to put the "L" in. Now he does put the "L" in but just in the wrong spot. "Key-Low".

We got the Wii Fit and Liam loves it. He watched so intently and we realized he can copy everything we do. His favorite is the yoga. So he found this black flat piece of plastic and he calls it his "balance board". Today he did yoga with daddy.

Mondays are not always the funnest days. Dave works in the morning and then I meet him at the church in the afternoon to clean. Liam normally misses his nap. So, once we got home Liam was playing in the yard, got an owie and wanted his daddy to hold him. In now time, Liam fell asleep.

It's Easter. The service this morning was WONDERFUL. Liam went to children's church and learned about the resurrection. Gabriel was an angel and napped in Dave's office the whole morning. Dave had to run the media board so I sat alone but it was a wonerful time for me to just focus on the Lord. The youth did a drama and the sermon and music was just amazing. I really felt touched by the Lord.

So, today we worked in the yard. We picked all the weeds in the front yard, raked out a lot of the wood chips left behind from the mulch we used and then I planted all my flower bulbs and Dave planted his cherry tree which is now starting to bud. THe boys had fun hanging out in the yard with us.

Liam's been taking Swimming lessons. He HATES going under but LOVES being in the shallow end where he can walk on his own. I think he'll continue to get braver and more confident. We're going to do the next level of lessons later this summer.

Dave's mom sent some money for the boys to get some outside toys so we bought them a little house. It's been sitting on our porch in a box for sometime. The weather had been cold so we hadn't put it together till today. The boys had fun watching mommy and daddy put it together and Liam tried to help Dave.

So, today was an exciting day! We went to my nephew's birthday party and right before leaving to head over there I started getting a migraine. I toughed it out. I should have stayed home. Once we got home I went straight to bed. Dave took the boys with him to church to clean so that I wouldn't have to deal with them or hear them downstairs. I slept for a couple hours. I woke feeling WAY better and to a great surprize! Dave came in with an envelope in his hand. It was from the US Citezen Imigration Services. We'd been waiting 8 weeks for this to arrive. We opened it and WE WERE APPROVED!!! It was a pretty for sure thing that we would be so we weren't worried but getting the letter made it so official and meant we could move onto the next step. So, we're that much closer to bringing our baby home.

I went to lunch with Becca and Lexi (high school girls from church). Then after dropping Lexi off Becca and I went to the mall. I got a cute new pair of heels and a black hat. In the picture Liam is wearing my hat. After shopping and dropping Becca off I went home, put the boys down for a nap, Dave went to the grocery store, we had 2 couples from church over for Pad thai and egg rolls, then we ended the night with some Wii. Fun day!

Dave took the day off because last week was a tough and very long week. We needed some family/marriage time. We spent a good portion of the day shopping with the boys but in the afternoon we took the boys to Greg and Andrea's house. They watched them for about 5 hours while Dave and I got to go to dinner and some more shopping. It was a GREAT day!!! We bought the Wii Fit while we were out and I'm very excited about it! Woohoo!

Day 85 - Bought Liam a new quilt

We bought Liam a new quilt today. We also got two sets of bright orange sheets so the boys beds can match once Gabriel moves into Liam's room. We'll use Liam's old patchwork quilt for Gabriel's bed but both will have the orange sheets. We still need to buy a mattress for the other bunch.

Today was Dave's day off. We ran some errands and then went to this new little Asian restaraunt. It was really good! The waitress loved Liam. She kept coming over the our table to play with him. She had a little rubber bouncey ball and they would throw it back and forth.

Most days are a "day with the boys", but we usally don't do much. When Dave's working I don't often go out with the boys. Today we went to get adjustments from Dr. Uncle Greg. Then we went to the Goodwill and got some good stuff. I found 3-4 Carter's outfits for Gabriel which looked new for 99cents each. I got a cute little spring dress and a skirt. Liam got a few pairs of knit shorts for summer pjs.

Today Dave and I hit up a bunch of businesses for donations for our upcoming silent auction. We're raising baby money ;-) We went to a lot of places who couldn't do anything at the store level. Some places had us fill out request forms and we have to wait. We went into Gold's Gym and with little info the guy gave us a 3 month membership! It's worth $199. We asked Old Navy with no luck but there was a guy repairing a cash register who over heard us talking to the ON manager. He approached us in the parking lot and asked a ton of questions. He ended up giving us a check for $200. Praise God!

Today we took G to the docs for a check up. My big boy was in the 99th % for head size! eek! He weighed 21lbs 3 3/4 oz and was 30 inches long. He's a happy and healthy boy!

Dave's grandma sent Gabriel a quilt for his birthday. It is adorable. It's the Brown Bear book. We're going to hang it on the wall in Liam's room which will be Gabriel's room eventually too. Gabriel really loved the quilt. I laid it on the floor to get a good picture of it and he kept crawling around on it and then he would just fall on his belly and start rolling. It was pretty cute.

Today my baby turned 1!!! We celebrated on Friday with friends and family so not much happened today. A friend of mine started a preschool group that will meet every Monday morning. It was the first day so that's where Gabriel spent part of his birthday.

Later in the day we had to clean the church and go to small group. But we did take Gabriel to get ice cream at Dairy Queen. :-)

I had my small group over for a slumber party tonight. They're freshmen and sophmores. One of the girls, Lexi, dances with a Celtic group and we went to see her preform tonight. It was really awesome! She's good!

So this morning Dave and I went hiking on the monument. It was supposed to be a spring break hike for the high schoolers but only one kid showed up. It was fun regardless. RC is Liam's favorite high school student. So, Liam enjoyed himself.

We came home and I started frosting Gabriel's bear cake. I made it green since his birthday is the day before St. Patrick's Day. We had family over and my friend Alisa and her husband and two boys. Her youngest is two days younger then Gabriel.

It was so much fun watching him with his cake. He kept leaning in to bate the face.

Gabriel's birthday is in 4 days. He'll be 1. Today I baked a stand up bear cake which we'll frost tomorrow. Tomorrow night all my family and a few friends are coming over to celebrate. I gave him a bath in the sick this afternoon in hopes to cut his hair (for the 1st time). We didn't get around to the hair cut, maybe tomorrow. But After the bath I got a ton of cute pictures. I had a tough time choosing one.

Day 70 - Starting the garden early

We went to Walmart and Lowes and got a bunch of seeds, biodegradable pots (for transplating), soil and pots. We started our garden early and indoors to get a head start. After May 1st we will plant them out in our little garden area in the back yard. He did 6 different herbs, sugar snap peas, green beans, okra, sweet peppers, jalapenos, cucumber. I am so excited!

Today I make cupcakes and frosting from scratch. I was pretty proud of myself. They turned out really good. I brought them to youth group tonight and shared them with my group of girls. I love cup cakes or as Liam calls them, Pup cakes.

Today we didn't do much. Our friends had tickets to see a play so we watched their daughter, Cora, for them. She's such a sweet little girl and Liam LOVES her. They are becoming good friends. I love it that they both so willingly posed for this picture.

Today we made some Ethiopian food for the first time. We had some friends over to share the experience with. It was FABULOUS! In the picture is the injera which is like a bread and what they use as silver ware. Then there is Potato Wat with cabbage, Dora Wat with chicken and some Lentil soup Dave wanted to make and I don't know the name. It was all so good.

Today is Tuesday which is one of Dave's busier days at work. I stayed home with the boys. I've been teaching Liam how to help around the house. He's dressing himself (with a bit of guidance), feeds the animals, takes out the trash and picks up his toys. I just had to brag a picture of him hauling the big bags out the the trash can.

Liam is feeling a lot better and although Gabriel is still under the weather I decided we NEEDED some fresh air. It was a beautiful day and so I loaded up the boys and we walked to the park. I actually broke into a little wet while walking. It was so nice to be out and breath in the fresh air. After we got back home I opened all the windows and let the house air out.

It's Sunday today. Gabriel is still super sick so I stayed home from church this morning and youth group tonight. I hate being so cooped up but what can I do. Gabriel's eyes are puffy and blood-shot. His nose won't stop running. He's got a temperature most of the time. He's tired but won't nap well. I feel so bad for him. This picture shows how sad he is. He wakes in the morning with boogers all over his face and in his hair and his eyes get all goobery and they are sealed shut. Poor little man!

Today another big box arrived in the mail. Dave's mom ordered a few toys from Toys R Us. He got a Little People airplane and a truck and a moving dinosaur. He was so excited! Today my family came over to celebrate Liam's birthday. I spent the day cleaning the house and helping Dave make a couple cakes. I figured Liam's gotten plenty of pictures on here lately with his birthday and all so I thought I would post a picture of Gabriel and his Grandpa.

My baby turned 3 today!! We skipped church this morning cause the boys and I are kinda sick, just colds but I can't leave them in the nursery when they are sick. We went to youth group today. We didn't do anything birthday related only because he had his party yesterday and we're having family over on Wed. for more birthday celebration. I took this picture before Liam went to bed. He's sitting with a bunch of the toys he got. Cars, dinosaurs, tool box, stuffed dog . . .and many more.

Day 52 - Liam's Dinosaur Birthday Party

Today we had Liam's birthday party. He had lots of friends over: Raine, Josh, Carter & Drew, Hunter & Julian, Ryley & Norah, Liam. They played, painted and drew on their book bags, had dinosaur cake, opened gifts. They all had so much fun. I think the party was a great success!

Day 50 - Adoption Paper work

Stayed home today and got some paper work done for the adoption. The Dosiier (the packet of paperwork that goes to Ethiopia) is very detailed and extensive. It's easy to get confused on what needs to be done when and how. A bunch of the papers have to be noterized and some also need a state seal, whatever that is. We need letters from the Police dept., our doctor, Dave's boss, reference letters, Birth and marriage cirtificates etc. So, today I organized it all into this file book. I also got a lot of it ready to go. So, we're very close to be done with it. However, we can't send it on until we get approval from the US Citizen and Imigration Services. Soon, soon!

Day 49 - The Shower

Today was Amanda's baby shower. I made a cake and chocolate dipped strawberries. It all turned out so good and I was so proud of myself. The beautiful flowers were a birthday gift from Dave!
